I would like to say thank you for the wonderfull time in Balam Bali Villa from the 10. till the 14.11.2010. I lived in the Siam Villa and where in your woderfull area with my friends. I enjoyed the time, it was for me the best time in bali. Thank you for the very nice walk in the rice-fields with Adi and the wonderful massage from Kadek. Best wishes for you all from

If you are wondering why you have a new Star Trek DVD, it is mine which was left behind when we packed. Now donated to your DVD collection (though it is region 1). C'est avec grand plaisir que nous sommes revenus à Balam Bali cet été. Les chambres sont charmantes, le personnel très accuellant, la nourriture délicieuse ("enak!"), et Hubert se fait toujours un plaisir de nous conseiller. Le nasi goreng n'a plus de secret pour nous grace à Senna. Bref, une étape immanquable !!

Nous avons passe un très bon séjour dans la maison de pirates. Calme, raffinement, nous avons profite pleinement de la vue magnifique sur les rizières et des belles promenades au départ de la villa. Merci pour l'accueil et le service! Parfait!

I have just returned from a 5 day stay at Balam Bali Villa, after swearing to return hopefully in the near future. I fell in love with the villa upon arrival, and i am fairly certain that my travel mates (my husband, two siblings and family friend) would all agree. We will really miss the serenity of the terraced padi fields of the surrounding area.
For our stay, we booked the entire Pirate House for all five of us, and enjoyed every minute. Its not as basic as you think, and i will say that pictures do not do the gorgeous wooden house justice.
The food there was excellent, including a smashing supper of pasta that Hubert cooked for us personally, having arrived late at night after the resident chef had already left.
We were also lucky enough to have Borju as our local guide, who was simply excellent! Special kudos to Adi for helping us out in the wee hours of the morning when my sister fell sick.
In short, we're besotted with Balam Bali, and even a five star hotel will have a hard time living up to this benchmark. Book it, you won't regret it!

A nice place to stay. Thje staff is very courteous. The house of pirates is wonderful.The food is also really good.
Très bonne adresse au milieu des rizières. La maison de pirates est idéale pour une famille nombreuse. Le service est délicat et la table est excellente. Le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse avec la vue sur les rizières est un moment magique. Un excellent rapport qualité/prix. A recommander

We had the most amazingly relaxing stay at Balam Bali Villa. The food was exquisite whilst gazing out at the wonderful view from the terrace. We both had a very relaxing massage which put us to sleep on the table! Everyone was so friendly and I can't wait to return!! Thank you so much.

I found Balam Bali Villa on the internet, and it was quite a surprise that the place came up to my expectations. I stayed for four days in the small but cosy Batur Room. The wooden house is really beautiful. The staff was very friendly aand helpful to enjoy a relaxed stay at the villa. Special compliments for the cook: very good meals. Also thanks for Gusti Mayung who made my stay memorable because of the walks in the ricefields and also because the of the pleasant massage of his professional hands.
I hope to come back. You all are beautiful people.

Hôtel de charme à recommander pour son confort et l'authenticité de l'endroit. De belles chambres, nous étions dans la chambre BALI. Un grand merci pour l'accueil et la disponibilité des hôtes qui nous ont vraiment très bien accueillis. Hôtel vivement recommandé.

A charming and unique experience
We stayed a few days at the villa after a very long and exhausting flight from Paris to Bali with a stop in Seoul.
At first glance, we have been totallly seduced by the villa, its charming location in the middle of the rice fields, its quitness, its staff always available, to advise you on where to go, what to visit. The Chef is also an excellent cooker and I would strongly advice you to experience one of its curries, or ask for specials upon your inspiration.
After visiting Bali and Lombok, we discovered other places but none has left us a remembering like this one.
I would really recommend the villa. It is a truly, unique life-style experience.
Also try one of the Balinese massage along the pool :-)

Great place, fantastic service
My family and I visited Balam Bali Villa for 12 days in July and had a great time. The level of service was unbeatable and the peace and tranquility of the villa was a welcome relief from the busy towns.
We stayed in the Marble Villa which was beautiful. We did have a look round the old Pirate House which was more basic but had lots of character.
The staff will assist with arranging any trips you would like and provide a vehicle, driver to take you wherever you like. I wouldn't recommend trying to hire your own vehicle, I considered it but once I realised how poorly the roads are signposted I'm glad I had the driver.
The villa is very well maintained, and decorated to a high standard. The views from the terrace over the rice fields is really stunning. You can sit there for hours just having breakfast and relaxing.

Havre de paix et d'authenticité
Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour cet été à la Villa Balam Bali avec mon homme. Outre un cadre magnifique (la villa est situé au coeur des rizières qu'on ne se lasse pas de contempler à toutes heures du jour et de la nuit), nous avons adoré les chambres traditionnelles au mobilier de bois balinais et au grand lit à baldaquin romantique. La piscine entouré des chambres luxueuses et raffinées est un havre de paix ou l'on aime se prélasser pour lire un bon bouquin. Nous avons également hautement apprécié la cuisine du chef qui variait entre les influences européennes, thais et balinaises. Parmi d'autres, la recette thai du poisson au lait de coco cuit en feuilles de bananier et le gateau aux feuilles vertes (une plante locale dont j'ai oublié le nom) et le mezze de mets balinais confectionné pour l'anniversaire de mon chéri que nous avons fêté sur place...
Les environs trés natures permettent de belles balades à travers les rizières et les villages alentours. Ne pas rater le beau temple situé à qq kms de la Villa, ses pagodes sont magnifiques.
Et enfin l'atout final : l'acceuil, la gentillesse et la disponibilité imprésionnante du staff de la Villa nous a aussi laissé sous le charme.
Bref vraiment notre best choice à Bali !

We visited Balam Bali as the first place we went to during our holiday. We were looking for a really beautiful, quiet place to chill out after the long flights and that's exactly what we got. It is a lovely converted villa set among the rice paddy fields with a separate 'pirate house' (a wooden building dating from the old days...). The owner is passionate about interior decor and Balam Bali reflects this. The staff are courteous and very helpful. We were picked up at the airport with the minimum of fuss by Addi, the manager of Balam Bali, and whisked back to the villa in about 40-50 minutes. The setting is stunningly beautiful with just a series of rising rice paddy terraces all around. Our room was large and very well appointed (the Siam Room) & right next to the swimming pool. We stayed for three nights. On the first day we just chilled & were guided round the local area & villages. On the second day we visited Ubud (rather noisy + fumes but worth a visit with a good local restaurant to finish in the evening) and on our departure day one of the the staff at Balam Bali, Mayun, took us on a fascinating tour of his local village up in the hills (complex irrigation systems, domestic weaving in the village) on the way to our next destination on the East coast.
All in all, a really lovely place to stay.

Je souhaite vivement recommander "Balam Bali Villa" qui est un magnifique guest-house qui se situe dans la partie sud de l'île de Bali, dans la campagne, à l'écart des zones d'habitation, en plein milieu de rizières en escalier, avec les montagnes volcaniques de l'île en second plan. La villa d'origine a été merveilleusement aménagée et meublée avec une rare authenticité. Chaque chambre à une décoration personnalisée avec de nombreux objets du cru (bois peints et/ou sculptés, pierres sculptées, objets originaux et innatendus, etc.), les salles de bains ont tout le confort moderne. Un second bâtiment 100% en bois construit dans le plus pur style Balinais, uniquement avec des matériaux anciens et sculptés, lui a été adjoint. Tout y est merveilleux, les bâtiments, les jardins, la piscine centrale à débordement, le cadre, etc...
(...) L'accueil y est soigné et le personnel attentionné (son Anglais est correct). L'établissement crée, notamment grâce à une décoration recherchée, minutieuse et soignée, un environnement authentiquement Balinais qui permet au visiteur de s'imprégner totalement de l'atmosphère et de la culture de l'île.
Je recommande très volontiers cet établissement aux amoureux de vieilles pierres, à ceux qui recherchent le calme et l'authenticité, loin des grands hôtels à la déco et aux prestations standards. Un dernier mot sur le rapport qualité prix, qui me parait lui aussi excellent puisqu'une chambre pour deux personnes avec petit-déjeuner est accessible à partir de 40,- EUR !

Notre chambre « Jaipur » donnait sur la belle piscine centrale : c’est là que nous avons passé les fêtes de fin d’année. Un grand merci à Hubert, David, Mayun, Oka et les autres garçons qui se sont donné du mal pour rendre notre séjour si magique. Imaginez un endroit calme et voluptueux aménagé avec goût et entouré de rizières et de cocotiers où vos moindres désirs peuvent se réaliser: on se croit au bout du monde et pourtant l’endroit est bien situé pour visiter les temples, les volcans, les rizières et les lacs où les chauffeurs vous emmènent en souriant. En somme un séjour de rêve.

The experience at Balam Bali Villa is one that we will remember.
We were collected from another area where we were staying by Hubert and one member of their team. On our journey we learned some interesting facts about Bali and also about one of Hubert's passions of pearls, as prior to our trip my husband had bought some beautiful designed pieces of pearl jewellery from Hubert's website.
On arrival at the villa we met David, Hubert's partner who was very helpful and welcoming. The service was excellent and Adi and the rest of the team were warm and friendly. We were delighted to stay in the largest guest room which was wonderfully designed and imaculately clean. We slept exceptionally well as the bed was very comfortable.
David, Hubert, Adi and the team gave us plenty of ideas about where to visit for the day and we spent a lot of our time with Oka, our driver, who showed us around different parts of the island. We could have joined David's 7.30 am daily pilates session, but we prefered to relax and eat a delicious breakfast on the terrace overlooking the rice fields.
A beautiful place to stay and a stunning country to visit! Thank you David, Hubert, Adi and the team.
P.S. I would recommend plenty of mosquito creams and possibly a net as the mosquitos loved my pale English skin!

Nichée au milieu des rizières, Balam Bali Villa est l'endroit idéal pour venir se ressourcer et découvrir Bali autrement.
Maison d'hôte élégante et conviviale, tout y est prévu pour faire du séjour un moment paradisiaque : l'accueil est chaleureux, le cadre champêtre, les chambres spacieuses et très confortables au bord de la piscine, le personnel aux petits soins et toujours souriant, les repas délicieux, servis à la demande.
Piscine avec vue sur la rizière, gymnastique sur la terrasse en contemplant au loin les volcans, excursions à Ubud, à la plage ou dans le Nord de l'île, massages, autant d'activités qui sont proposées et rendent le séjour idyllique, véritable parenthèse au coeur d'un hiver plutôt morose.
Je n'ai qu'une envie : revenir bientôt à Balam Bali Villa et la faire connaître à mes amis.

La nostra esperienza presso la Balam Bali Villa è stata davvero speciale. Noi ci siamo stati durante il nostro viaggio di nozze ma la consigliamo a tutti coloro che vogliono trovare pace e relax in mezzo al suggestivo paesaggio dei campi di riso, a breve distanza da Seminyak, Ubud e Kuta.
Il personale è davvero gentile, accogliente e ci ha fatto sentire a casa nostra nonostante la notevole distanza dall'Italia; la cucina è ottima.
La nostra stanza, la Siam Room, era bellissima, spaziosa e curata nei minimi dettagli come tutto, del resto, alla Balam Bali Villa.

Je souhaite vivement recommander "Balam Bali Villa" qui est un magnifique guest-house qui se situe dans la partie sud de l'île de Bali, dans la campagne, à l'écart des zones d'habitation, en plein milieu de rizières en escalier, avec les montagnes volcaniques de l'île en second plan. La villa d'origine a été merveilleusement aménagée et meublée avec une rare authenticité. Chaque chambre à une décoration personnalisée avec de nombreux objets du cru (bois peints et/ou sculptés, pierres sculptées, objets originaux et innatendus, etc.), les salles de bains ont tout le confort moderne. Un second bâtiment 100% en bois construit dans le plus pur style Balinais, uniquement avec des matériaux anciens et sculptés, lui a été adjoint. Tout y est merveilleux, les bâtiments, les jardins, la piscine centrale à débordement, le cadre, etc...
(...) L'accueil y est soigné et le personnel attentionné (son Anglais est correct). L'établissement crée, notamment grâce à une décoration recherchée, minutieuse et soignée, un environnement authentiquement Balinais qui permet au visiteur de s'imprégner totalement de l'atmosphère et de la culture de l'île.
Je recommande très volontiers cet établissement aux amoureux de vieilles pierres, à ceux qui recherchent le calme et l'authenticité, loin des grands hôtels à la déco et aux prestations standards. Un dernier mot sur le rapport qualité prix, qui me parait lui aussi excellent puisqu'une chambre pour deux personnes avec petit-déjeuner est accessible à partir de 40,- EUR !

Notre chambre « Jaipur » donnait sur la belle piscine centrale : c’est là que nous avons passé les fêtes de fin d’année. Un grand merci à Hubert, David, Mayun, Oka et les autres garçons qui se sont donné du mal pour rendre notre séjour si magique. Imaginez un endroit calme et voluptueux aménagé avec goût et entouré de rizières et de cocotiers où vos moindres désirs peuvent se réaliser: on se croit au bout du monde et pourtant l’endroit est bien situé pour visiter les temples, les volcans, les rizières et les lacs où les chauffeurs vous emmènent en souriant. En somme un séjour de rêve.

The experience at Balam Bali Villa is one that we will remember.
We were collected from another area where we were staying by Hubert and one member of their team. On our journey we learned some interesting facts about Bali and also about one of Hubert's passions of pearls, as prior to our trip my husband had bought some beautiful designed pieces of pearl jewellery from Hubert's website.
On arrival at the villa we met David, Hubert's partner who was very helpful and welcoming. The service was excellent and Adi and the rest of the team were warm and friendly. We were delighted to stay in the largest guest room which was wonderfully designed and imaculately clean. We slept exceptionally well as the bed was very comfortable.
David, Hubert, Adi and the team gave us plenty of ideas about where to visit for the day and we spent a lot of our time with Oka, our driver, who showed us around different parts of the island. We could have joined David's 7.30 am daily pilates session, but we prefered to relax and eat a delicious breakfast on the terrace overlooking the rice fields.
A beautiful place to stay and a stunning country to visit! Thank you David, Hubert, Adi and the team.
P.S. I would recommend plenty of mosquito creams and possibly a net as the mosquitos loved my pale English skin!

Nichée au milieu des rizières, Balam Bali Villa est l'endroit idéal pour venir se ressourcer et découvrir Bali autrement.
Maison d'hôte élégante et conviviale, tout y est prévu pour faire du séjour un moment paradisiaque : l'accueil est chaleureux, le cadre champêtre, les chambres spacieuses et très confortables au bord de la piscine, le personnel aux petits soins et toujours souriant, les repas délicieux, servis à la demande.
Piscine avec vue sur la rizière, gymnastique sur la terrasse en contemplant au loin les volcans, excursions à Ubud, à la plage ou dans le Nord de l'île, massages, autant d'activités qui sont proposées et rendent le séjour idyllique, véritable parenthèse au coeur d'un hiver plutôt morose.
Je n'ai qu'une envie : revenir bientôt à Balam Bali Villa et la faire connaître à mes amis.

La nostra esperienza presso la Balam Bali Villa è stata davvero speciale. Noi ci siamo stati durante il nostro viaggio di nozze ma la consigliamo a tutti coloro che vogliono trovare pace e relax in mezzo al suggestivo paesaggio dei campi di riso, a breve distanza da Seminyak, Ubud e Kuta.
Il personale è davvero gentile, accogliente e ci ha fatto sentire a casa nostra nonostante la notevole distanza dall'Italia; la cucina è ottima.
La nostra stanza, la Siam Room, era bellissima, spaziosa e curata nei minimi dettagli come tutto, del resto, alla Balam Bali Villa.
